NAB Balochistan Marks International Anti-Corruption Day 2025 with Seminar and Awareness Walk

The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Balochistan, under the directives of Chairman NAB Lt. (R) Nazir Ahmad Butt, organized a seminar and an awareness walk at the NAB Balochistan Complex in connection with International Anti-Corruption Day 2025. The event was attended by faculty members and students from various universities, position-holders from competitions, senior NAB officials, and media representatives. Senior Member Board of Revenue Qambar Dashti and Secretary Revenue Virender Lal were also present.

Addressing the seminar, Director General NAB Balochistan Noman Aslam stated that corruption is the biggest obstacle to economic and social development and weakens public trust in institutions. Referring to the Chairman’s vision, he emphasized that NAB remains focused on mega corruption cases while avoiding unnecessary inquiries, ensuring progress toward Pakistan’s sustainable development goals. He added that International Anti-Corruption Day serves as a reminder that the government, public, academia, and media must unite in the fight against corruption.

Highlighting a major achievement, the DG revealed that through collaboration between NAB Balochistan and the Board of Revenue Balochistan, over **one million acres of state-owned forest land**—valued at more than **Rs. 1.3 trillion**—was successfully transferred back to the Forest Department. This historic recovery is unprecedented in the province’s history. Both the NAB Chairman and the Chief Minister of Balochistan lauded the efforts of NAB Balochistan and the provincial government. The Chief Minister formally commended DG Noman Aslam and Case Officer Deputy Director Malik Waheed Ahmed in an official letter.

The DG also acknowledged the contributions of Senior Member Board of Revenue Qambar Dashti and Secretary Revenue Virender Lal, who were present at the ceremony and received honorary certificates.

Emphasizing the role of youth, he noted that universities are breeding grounds for future policymakers and professionals, adding that the integrity students uphold today will shape Pakistan’s future.

Outstanding participants of debates, essay writing, art competitions, and short film contests were specially recognized. The DG congratulated all winners and runners-up and appreciated their creativity. Awards and certificates were distributed among the participants.

He further praised the positive role of the media, stating that responsible reporting and investigative journalism are vital for promoting transparency. He reaffirmed NAB’s commitment to strengthening collaboration with media and academic institutions to reinforce the national narrative on accountability.

The event concluded with a renewed pledge toward national unity, transparency, and personal responsibility. The DG urged attendees to reject corruption, avoid shortcuts, and embrace integrity in their daily lives, asserting that with collective determination, a corruption-free Pakistan can become a reality.
