Qasim Khan Suri Condemns Police Raid on PTI Secretariat in Balochistan, Calls It ‘Attack on Constitution and Murder of Democracy

Quetta – Former Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly and senior Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Qasim Khan Suri has strongly condemned the police raid on PTI’s provincial secretariat in Balochistan, terming it an attack on the Constitution, a murder of democracy, and a criminal attempt to suppress political rights.

In a statement posted on X, Suri said the *“puppet government imposed under a dark umbrella”* had exposed its cowardice and unlawful governance by targeting PTI’s office. He said the action was not merely a raid, but a deliberate effort to clamp down on political activities and silence opposition voices.

He noted that ahead of the local government elections, political parties have a constitutional and democratic right to run campaigns, convey their manifestos to the public, and hold consultations in their offices. Instead, he alleged, the province was being pushed into an atmosphere of censorship, fear, and repression.

Suri claimed that permissions for rallies, press conferences, and public outreach are being denied and that even workers are being prevented from sitting inside their own office. He added that the government is so fearful that police units are being deployed even against female PTI workers.

He further stated that the ruling circles are terrified of Imran Khan’s name, due to which political pressure is being intensified at every level.
