Mahmood Khan Achakzai Nominated Unopposed as Opposition Leader in National Assembly; Balochistan’s Political Parties Welcome Decision

Quetta: Head of the Tehreek Tahaffuz-e-Aeen Pakistan, Mahmood Khan Achakzai, has been elected unopposed as the Opposition Leader in the National Assembly. Political and religious parties from Balochistan have welcomed the decision, calling it a positive development for the province and expressing hope that he will effectively raise Balochistan’s issues on the floor of the National Assembly.
According to details, the formal process for submitting nomination papers for the post of Opposition Leader was completed in the National Assembly a day earlier. Mahmood Khan Achakzai submitted his nomination papers, while no other member of the National Assembly filed papers against him, resulting in his unopposed election.
Leaders of major Balochistan-based political parties, including Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam Balochistan chief Maulana Abdul Wasay, National Party central secretary Mir Rehmat Baloch, Balochistan National Party central vice president Sajad Tareen Advocate, and Jamaat-e-Islami Balochistan chief and MNA Maulana Hidayat-ur-Rehman, congratulated Mahmood Khan Achakzai on his election.
They said it is an honor for the people of Balochistan and expressed confidence that the newly elected Opposition Leader will not only highlight the problems and deprivations faced by the province but will also use his political influence to push for their resolution. The leaders emphasized that issues such as gas and electricity shortages in Balochistan should be raised forcefully in parliament.
The Balochistan political leadership extended full support to Mahmood Khan Achakzai and expressed hope that he would play an effective role in addressing the long-standing challenges faced by the province.
