Pashtunkhwa Milli Awami Party Condemns 27th Constitutional Amendment, Calls It a Threat to Pakistan’s Foundations

**Quetta:** The Pashtunkhwa Milli Awami Party (PMAP) has strongly criticized the 27th Constitutional Amendment, describing it as a move by the “unelected Parliament under Form 47” that undermines the foundations of the country.
The remarks were made during joint meetings of PMAP’s district, tehsil, and regional units in preparation for the grand public gathering on **2 December** to commemorate the 52nd death anniversary of Khan Shahid Abdul Samad Khan Achakzai. Party leaders, including Central General Secretary Abdul Rahim Ziaratwal and Provincial President Abdul Qahar Khan Wadan, urged workers to mobilize people door-to-door to attend the rally and work tirelessly for its success.
The speakers condemned the amendment, saying it violates the spirit of the Constitution of Pakistan and the historic **23 March 1940 Pakistan Resolution**. They alleged that the amendment concentrates powers of all constitutional institutions in a single individual, undermining parliamentary sovereignty and displaying open mistrust by the Chief of Army Staff toward 25 crore citizens.
They further stated that the amendment damages the federal structure, curtails judicial authority, and threatens media freedom, while the country continues to face crises including inflation, unemployment, terrorism, and the denial of basic human rights.
The leaders emphasized that the **2 December rally at Sadiq Kasi Shaheed Football Ground in Quetta** will strengthen the struggle to protect the Constitution, promote democratic governance, and reinforce parliamentary autonomy.
