JUI Senator Faces Action if Resignation Not Submitted Over 27th Amendment Vote, Warns Kamran Murtaza

**Quetta (Qudrat Daily)** – Central leader of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI) and Senator Kamran Murtaza has warned that **Senator Ahmed Khan**, who voted in favor of the **27th Constitutional Amendment**, will face proceedings under **Article 63 of the Constitution** if he does not submit his resignation within a few days.

Speaking on a private TV program, Murtaza said the government had **co-opted the JUI senator**, which would be addressed upon the return of party chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman. He revealed that **Maulana Fazlur Rehman had directed the immediate notice and dismissal of the senator** following the vote.

Murtaza emphasized that it was previously agreed that **party members would not be interfered with**, but the government violated this understanding. He further stated that previous agreements during the **26th Amendment** negotiations had been reversed, creating tensions, and now there was **no room for cooperation with the government**.

He criticized the **hasty handling of the 27th Amendment**, saying the draft should have been presented to a parliamentary committee, and members were not fully briefed before the vote. Murtaza also claimed that the current government achieved what **Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto could not**, implying major political consequences.
