Winter Office Timings Announced: Impact on Official Business and Public Services; Hospitals and Educational Institutions Exempted, Health and Education Department Offices to Work on Six-Day Basis

Quetta (Daily Qudrat Quetta), 5 October: The Services and General Administration Department (S&GAD), Government of Balochistan, has notified, for the general information of all administrative departments and their subordinate offices, that during the winter season, from 15 October 2026 to 14 April 2027, the working hours of government offices on a five-day working week basis will be as follows:

From Monday to Thursday, from 08:30 a.m. to 04:00 p.m., with a break for prayers and lunch from 01:30 p.m. to 02:00 p.m. On Friday, from 08:30 a.m. to 03:30 p.m., with a break for Friday prayers and lunch from 01:15 p.m. to 02:15 p.m. Similarly, offices will remain closed on Saturday and Sunday.

According to the notification, the said timings will not apply to hospitals and educational institutions, including universities, colleges, and schools. However, the attached offices of the Health Department and the Education Department will remain open on a six-day working week basis from 08:30 a.m. to 02:30 p.m., while on Friday from 08:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
