Opposition Protests During Bilawal Bhutto’s Speech in National Assembly, Calls for Azaan

ISLAMABAD: Chaos erupted in the National Assembly on Tuesday when opposition lawmakers began chanting slogans, tearing copies of the agenda, and giving *Azaans* during a speech by Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari.
The session, presided over by Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq, was expected to include voting on the 27th Constitutional Amendment. As Bilawal began his speech, opposition members—mainly from the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI)—staged a strong protest against the amendment.

PTI lawmakers tore up copies of the proposed bill and began reciting *Azaans* in the House, turning the session into a scene of loud commotion and disorder.
In his address, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari declared that *“no one’s father can undo the 18th Constitutional Amendment.”* He praised Pakistan’s armed forces, saying they are respected worldwide and noted that the officer who downed an Indian fighter jet and responded firmly to Prime Minister Modi was rightly honored with the title of Field Marshal.
Bilawal added that the 27th Amendment recognizes that very act, which his party fully supports.
