Draft of 27th Constitutional Amendment to Be Presented in Cabinet; PPP, PML-N Agree on Formation of Constitutional Court — Rana Sanaullah

**Islamabad (Daily Qudrat)** — Prime Minister’s Adviser and Senator **Rana Sanaullah** has revealed that the **draft of the 27th Constitutional Amendment** will be presented in the **next federal cabinet meeting**, with **Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N)** and the **Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP)** reaching a consensus on the **establishment of a Constitutional Court**.
Speaking to a private news channel, Rana Sanaullah said the proposed amendment — after cabinet approval — will first be presented in the **Senate** and later in the **National Assembly**.
According to him, the **Constitutional Court** will comprise **eight judges** and hold a **status equal to the Supreme Court**. The draft will also be referred to the **standing committees**, where a **two-day debate** will take place before final approval. The **Senate is expected to pass the amendment by Monday**, followed by a **three-day process in the National Assembly** for final approval.
The adviser stated that **all coalition parties** have been fully consulted, and any point of consensus will become part of the amendment, while **differences will be addressed later**.
Rana Sanaullah further disclosed that the draft includes a **proposal to abolish dual nationality for certain positions**, and the government is also considering making **local body elections mandatory every four years**.
He added that the **judicial appointments and transfers** for the proposed Constitutional Court will be under the **Judicial Commission’s authority**, while the government is also reviewing the **revival of the Executive Magistrate system** in some form.
Commenting on the opposition, he said the **PTI may submit its recommendations** if it wishes, but since its members have **resigned from committees and refuse to engage with the government**, their participation remains uncertain.
