Good News for Kids: Schools Announce Summer Holidays

Lahore: In a much-awaited announcement, the Education Department of Punjab has declared the start of summer holidays for schools due to the soaring temperatures. The holidays will officially begin on June 1st.
Secretary of School Education, Khalid Nazir Watoo, informed the media that if the heat continues to intensify, there may be a revision of the current schedule, potentially bringing the holidays forward by a week.
This decision has been made with the health and well-being of students, parents, and teachers in mind, as extreme heat can adversely affect children’s ability to engage in academic activities.
It’s also worth noting that the impact of global climate change is being felt worldwide, and Pakistan is no exception. Global warming has disrupted weather patterns and is contributing to the rise in natural disasters. According to experts, Pakistan is among the countries most vulnerable to the devastating effects of climate change.
Research indicates that the intensity of heatwaves is increasing year by year, and their consequences are being felt in education, health, and the economy.
