Faisal Vawda Announces Preparation for 28th Amendment After Meeting With Maulana Fazlur Rehman

Islamabad: Senator **Faisal Vawda** met **JUI-F chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman** at his residence to discuss the **27th Constitutional Amendment**, with party spokesperson **Aslam Ghauri** also present during the meeting.
Speaking to the media afterward, Vawda said, *“You all are eager for the 27th Amendment, but I’m preparing for the 28th. As the country progresses, amendments will continue to come.”*
He described Maulana Fazlur Rehman as a “vital figure for Pakistan’s security and stability,” adding that the numbers for the **27th Amendment’s passage** were complete and that **Maulana’s political experience** was crucial in understanding and guiding the amendment process.
Vawda clarified that **the 18th Amendment was not being rolled back**, stating, *“The government is giving Rs 2,000 billion to the provinces. If there’s a consensus for minor changes, that’s not a bad thing.”* He further said that the amendment would include **adjustments related to transfers, postings, and age limits**, while also addressing national defense and modern warfare.
Referring to **Article 243**, Vawda said, *“It’s not just about military warfare anymore — we face economic and cyber wars as well. If strengthening all three armed forces requires energy and resources, we’ll provide them.”*
He expressed confidence that the **27th Amendment would pass smoothly**, saying, *“If there’s any confusion, the ‘flight is already on board.’”*
Responding to a question, Vawda said the **PPP is the guarantor of the current system** and would not let it be rolled back. He added that **PTI should be taken into confidence**, but “if they choose not to participate, that’s their decision.”
On the **TLP issue**, Vawda said he had “good relations” with the party, but one specific issue had led to its ban. *“If I grab someone by the collar and fight, there will be a reaction — punishment, backlash, and even imposition of governor’s rule,”* he remarked.
