PTI Must Step Back and Government Step Forward to Ease Political Tensions: Fawad Chaudhry

Karachi: Former Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader **Fawad Chaudhry** has said that to lower the country’s political temperature, **PTI needs to take one step back while the government should take one step forward**.
In a video message, Fawad Chaudhry said that due to ongoing political tensions, Pakistan has been unable to fully benefit from its recent international achievements. “Until political temperatures cool down, neither economic growth nor political stability can be achieved,” he stated.
He emphasized the need to create an environment where dialogue is possible. “During my meetings with Shah Mahmood Qureshi, Ejaz Chaudhry, and other leaders, we agreed that improving the political climate is essential,” he added.
Fawad Chaudhry further revealed that next week he, along with other former PTI leaders, will meet **senior ministers of the PML-N** and **Maulana Fazlur Rehman** to discuss ways to improve the political environment. “We will present our view that Pakistan needs a more stable and reconciliatory political atmosphere, and I am hopeful that progress will be made,” he said.
He suggested that **granting relief to political prisoners** could help improve the overall atmosphere. “The bail pleas of Shah Mahmood Qureshi are being delayed without any valid reason,” he remarked.
Fawad Chaudhry also called for the release of **Ejaz Chaudhry, Dr. Yasmin Rashid, Umar Cheema, Mian Mehmood-ur-Rasheed**, and other detained political workers and women activists, saying, “Securing bail is their legal right.”
He asserted that the **release of Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi** remains their core objective. “At present, I, Imran Ismail, and Mahmood Moulvi are meeting with different stakeholders, and soon senior PTI leadership will also join these efforts. You will see that the political environment will start moving toward improvement,” Fawad Chaudhry concluded.
