‘Supporters of Imran Khan but Admirers of Maryam Nawaz’s Work,’ Says Rana Sikandar Hayat in Viral Video with Youth
Lahore: A video of Punjab Education Minister Rana Sikandar Hayat Khan has gone viral on social media, showing an engaging exchange between him and a young man who declared that his vote belongs only to Imran Khan.
In response, Rana Sikandar Hayat said, “We have won your hearts within a year. You are free to vote for whomever you like.” He added that the young man admitted, “I support Imran Khan but I like the work being done by Maryam Nawaz.”
The minister remarked, “Our goal is to make life easier for you — we want to win your hearts through performance.”

Criticizing the previous PTI government, Rana Sikandar said, “They promised to turn the Prime Minister’s House into a university — where is it? They promised foreigners would come to work in Pakistan, 50 lakh homes would be built, and jobs would be created — but not a single promise was fulfilled.”
He added, “Everyone can deliver good speeches, but in four years, how many scholarships and laptops did Usman Buzdar’s government provide? It’s important to look at the data.”

Journalist Umar Cheema wrote, “If people like Maryam Nawaz’s work but vote for Imran Khan, then that’s a matter of personal preference, not performance. And if narrative matters more than delivery, then perhaps governance should be handed to influencers.”
