Pakistan Rejects Ukrainian President’s Claim of Pakistani Involvement in Russia-Ukraine War

Islamabad: Pakistan has categorically rejected the claims made by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky regarding the alleged involvement of Pakistani citizens in the Russia-Ukraine conflict.
In an official statement, the spokesperson for the Foreign Office dismissed the allegations as baseless, stating that no credible evidence has been provided by Ukrainian authorities to support such claims.
“The allegations of Pakistani citizens’ involvement in the Ukraine conflict are unfounded and rejected. So far, Ukrainian officials have not presented any verifiable proof,” the spokesperson said.
The Foreign Office further noted that the Government of Pakistan has not been formally notified of any such issue by Ukraine and will be seeking clarification from Ukrainian authorities.
The spokesperson reiterated Pakistan’s neutral stance on the conflict, emphasizing that the country supports a peaceful resolution to the Ukraine crisis through dialogue and diplomacy in accordance with the principles of the United Nations.
President Zelensky, in a statement on Monday, had claimed that foreign fighters from various countries — including Pakistan and China — were allegedly fighting for Russia against Ukraine.
