Pakistan, Kazakhstan Conclude Joint Counterterrorism Exercise ‘Dostarm-5’ in Cherat

CHERAT:The closing ceremony of the joint Pakistan–Kazakhstan counterterrorism exercise **“Dostarm-5”** was held in **Cherat** on Saturday, marking the conclusion of a two-week military training program that began on **October 14, 2025**.

The drill brought together units from Pakistan’s **Special Services Group (SSG)** and Kazakhstan’s **special forces**, who demonstrated high levels of professional skill and discipline throughout the exercise. The program focused on improving tactics, procedures and operational readiness for counterterrorism missions, and aimed to further strengthen the long-standing defence ties between the two countries.

The ceremony’s guest of honour was the **Commandant of the Special Operations School, Cherat**. Kazakhstan’s **Ambassador** and **Defence Attaché** also attended the event, underscoring the diplomatic and military cooperation underpinning the exercise.

Officials said the joint drills enhanced interoperability, exchanged best practices, and reinforced mutual commitment to regional security.
