Another ‘Millionaire Domestic Worker’ Arrested in Karachi’s Defence Area

Karachi: Police in Karachi’s upscale Defence neighborhood have arrested another domestic worker who had secretly accumulated millions of rupees’ worth of wealth through theft from his employer over several years.

According to a statement issued by the **District South Police spokesperson**, the **Sahil Police** acted on a complaint lodged by a woman employer, leading to the arrest of the domestic worker and recovery of **gold and cash of significant value**.

The suspect was identified as **Wajid Ali**, who had been employed at the woman’s residence for the past **eight years**. Police said the suspect **confessed to his crimes** during the initial interrogation.

Investigators revealed that Wajid had been **stealing cash, gold, foreign currency, and valuables** from the household for several years. He also allegedly used **ATM cards and cheque books** belonging to the employer to transfer **large sums of money** to his own accounts, with the total value running into **millions of rupees**.

Upon his indication, police recovered a substantial quantity of gold and cash, including **two 5-tola gold bars**, **two 2-tola gold bars**, **seven 1-tola gold bars**, and **Rs227,000 in cash**.

The suspect also admitted to having purchased **properties and vehicles** with the stolen money and transferring large amounts to other bank accounts.

Police have registered a case and handed the accused over to the **Investigation Wing**, which is now probing his **bank accounts, properties, and financial transactions**.
