Bilawal Bhutto’s Vision a Ray of Hope for Flood Victims: Sharjeel Memon

KARACHI: Sindh Senior Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon praised Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari’s efforts for flood victims, calling his leadership a ray of hope for affected families.
In a statement, Memon said that Bilawal Bhutto considers the people’s suffering as his own and that under his leadership, the PPP will not rest until the complete rehabilitation of flood-affected families. He added that Bilawal’s stance reflects compassion and foresight, qualities that define his leadership.
“Bilawal Bhutto has always stood by the people in difficult times, and even today his top priority is the poor, the farmers, and the flood-affected families,” Memon stated.
He welcomed the federal government’s declaration of climate and agricultural emergencies on Bilawal’s demand but expressed disappointment that no relief package had yet been announced under the Benazir Income Support Programme. He reminded that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif had personally assured Bilawal of such a package, but people in Gilgit-Baltistan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Punjab, and particularly South Punjab were still waiting.
Memon further highlighted Bilawal Bhutto’s criticism of delays in the United Nations’ global aid appeal, calling it incomprehensible. He assured that the PPP would continue to raise the voice of the people at every forum and table resolutions in assemblies to make rehabilitation a national agenda.
He noted that Bilawal Bhutto visited flood-affected areas of Central Punjab, South Punjab, and Sindh, and later met with the Sindh Chief Minister and the provincial agriculture minister to plan practical measures for farmers’ recovery.
“The agricultural sector has been hit the hardest, and Bilawal Bhutto Zardari’s vision is to help farmers stand on their feet again. The Sindh government is taking concrete steps in this regard, with the expectation of full cooperation from the federal government,” Memon concluded.
