Pakistan, China Agree to Enhance Cooperation in Financial Sector

Islamabad: Pakistan and China have agreed to further strengthen cooperation in the financial sector, as Finance Minister **Senator Muhammad Aurangzeb** highlighted the country’s improving economic outlook during a meeting in Beijing with **Jing Feng, Chairman of Hongta Securities**.

The finance minister reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to its **reform agenda** and emphasized the government’s focus on diversifying financial resources while pursuing **sustainable and inclusive growth** through structural reforms.

Aurangzeb noted that **international credit rating agencies** have shown growing confidence in Pakistan’s economy. He expressed satisfaction over recent upgrades, with **Moody’s improving Pakistan’s rating from Caa2 to Caa1 (Stable Outlook), Fitch from CCC+ to B- (Stable Outlook), and Standard & Poor’s (S\&P) also upgrading from CCC+ to B- (Stable Outlook).**

Both sides discussed ways to **boost cooperation in capital markets** and deepen financial linkages between Pakistan and China.

The minister stressed that Pakistan attaches great importance to its partnership with Chinese investors: *“Together, we can unlock new opportunities that will stabilize our economy and deepen financial cooperation.”*
