President of Pakistan Announces Civil Awards for 263 National and International Personalities

Islamabad: On the occasion of Pakistan’s Independence Day, President Asif Ali Zardari has approved civil awards for 263 individuals, including both Pakistani nationals and foreign dignitaries, in recognition of their outstanding contributions in various fields. The awards will be officially conferred on Pakistan Day, March 23, next year.
Among the notable awardees are television anchor Kiran Naz, renowned cricketer Shahid Afridi, the late veteran politician Nawabzada Nasrullah Khan, and Federal Minister Awais Leghari.
According to the official announcement, the civil awards span across multiple sectors:
Science: 6 individuals
Education: 18 individuals
Medicine: 5 individuals
Arts: 22 individuals
Literature: 20 individuals, including prominent names like Senator Irfan Siddiqui, Ata-ul-Haq Qasmi, Mustansar Hussain Tarar, Asghar Nadeem Syed, Zehra Nigah, and the late Tajammul Kaleem.
In the **sports** category, 10 athletes will be honored, including Shahid Afridi and Sana Mir.
In **journalism**, 10 individuals are being recognized, with Kiran Naz set to receive the *Tamgha-e-Imtiaz*.
In the area of **social services**, Nawabzada Nasrullah Khan will be posthumously awarded the *Nishan-e-Imtiaz*, while the late Taj Haider will receive the *Sitara-e-Imtiaz*.
Furthermore, 75 individuals will be recognized for their acts of bravery.
The list also includes **14 foreign nationals** and **26 overseas Pakistanis**, all acknowledged for their valuable services to the nation.
These prestigious awards underline the government’s commitment to honoring excellence and dedication across all sectors of society.
