Pakistan’s Ambassador to the US: “If Attacked, We Will Respond with Full Force”

In a recent interview, Pakistan’s Ambassador to the United States, Rizwan Saeed Sheikh, made a strong statement regarding Pakistan’s stance on national security, especially in the wake of rising tensions between India and Pakistan following the Pahalgam incident.
Ambassador Sheikh asserted that while Pakistan always seeks peace and has shown responsibility and restraint, any aggression against Pakistan would be met with a robust response. He emphasized that the desire for peace should not be misunderstood as weakness. The Ambassador further warned that should two nuclear powers clash, the consequences would be unpredictable and dangerous.
Speaking to a US news outlet, Sheikh said, “We do not seek escalation, but if Pakistan faces any kind of aggression, we will respond with full force.” He also highlighted the uncertainty along the borders, adding, “The situation remains volatile, and while we seek peace, the unpredictability of two nuclear-armed nations facing off is a cause for concern.”
Ambassador Rizwan Saeed Sheikh dismissed India’s claims regarding the Pahalgam incident, pointing out that India has failed to present any concrete evidence to substantiate its accusations against Pakistan. He criticized India for trying to shift the blame for its internal issues, such as its repressive policies in Kashmir and administrative shortcomings, onto Pakistan.
“India cannot place the burden of its oppressive policies, electoral compulsions, or administrative failures on Pakistan. If the presence of 700,000 troops in occupied Kashmir cannot ensure peace, it should be a moment of reflection for India,” he remarked.
Pakistan’s Ambassador also reiterated that his country remains the most affected by terrorism, with nearly a thousand terrorist incidents occurring in Pakistan last year alone. “Pakistan has been at the forefront in the global war against terrorism. We have sacrificed thousands of lives and lost billions of dollars in this fight,” he said, reinforcing Pakistan’s commitment to combating terrorism despite the heavy toll it has taken on the nation.
Ambassador Sheikh’s comments come at a time of heightened tensions in the region, and he called for global awareness of the delicate security situation, underlining that any military conflict between two nuclear-capable nations could have devastating consequences for regional and global peace.
This statement reiterates Pakistan’s resolve to defend its sovereignty and territorial integrity while also highlighting the need for a peaceful resolution to regional conflicts.
