Pakistan and Iran Sign Multiple Agreements, Aim to Boost Trade Volume to \$10 Billion

Islamabad: Pakistan and Iran have exchanged several agreements and memorandums of understanding (MOUs) across various sectors, marking a significant step towards enhancing bilateral relations.
Among the key agreements, Iran’s Minister of Trade and Pakistan’s Minister for Food Security signed an MOU, while Federal Minister Khalid Magsi and Iranian Ambassador Reza Amiri Moghadam also exchanged documents. Additionally, an MOU was signed between Pakistan’s Minister of State for Finance and Railways and Iran’s Foreign Minister.
Another MOU was exchanged between Pakistan’s Federal Minister for IT, Shiza Fatima, and the Iranian Minister. Agreements to promote cultural ties, as well as cooperation in maritime and climate sectors, were also formalized between the two countries.
Moreover, an MOU on cooperation in law, justice, and interior affairs was signed between the two brotherly nations, along with another agreement focusing on space services. Further agreements were made to enhance product quality standards and strengthen tourism and public services.
In a joint press conference with Iranian President Dr. Masoud Pezeshkian, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif expressed hope that these MOUs would soon translate into formal agreements. He reiterated that both Pakistan and Iran have set an ambitious target of increasing their bilateral trade to \$10 billion.
