Police Raids Sheikh Waqas Akram’s Residence Amidst PTI’s Growing Political Tension

Islamabad:In a dramatic move, police raided the residence of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Secretary-General Sheikh Waqas Akram in Jhang. According to police sources, no arrests were made during the raid.

This development comes as PTI leaders, including Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur and PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar, led a convoy from Islamabad to Lahore, signaling the party’s growing political activism.

Meanwhile, PTI’s parliamentary party convened a meeting to discuss their plans for a nationwide protest movement. Speaking to the media in Lahore, Barrister Gohar emphasized that the movement had been launched under the direction of PTI’s founder. He further stated that the protest call was backed by the leadership, with plans for a major rally on August 5.

Ali Amin Gandapur, in his press conference, stated that the 90-day movement would either break or make the government. He urged the government to engage in dialogue and prove its case by showing evidence of any alleged conspiracies against the country. He added, “If any wrongdoing is proved, the punishment should not only be limited to PTI but to all involved parties.”

The police raid and the growing political tension in the country signal a deepening crisis as PTI intensifies its protest campaign against the government.

This ongoing political unrest is likely to have major implications for Pakistan’s political landscape in the coming weeks.
