Political Party Moves Islamabad High Court for Reserved Seats in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly

Islamabad: A political party has approached the Islamabad High Court seeking its share of the reserved seats in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Assembly. The petition was filed against the Election Commission’s notification regarding the distribution of reserved seats among political parties, following the Supreme Court’s ruling.
The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) legislators have requested the court to intervene and ensure that the reserved seats in KP are allocated according to their rightful share. The Islamabad High Court has scheduled a hearing for tomorrow, with Justice Inam Amin Minhas presiding over the case.
PTI parliamentarians have challenged the Election Commission’s notification dated April 5 and have urged the court to direct the Commission to amend the notification issued on March 4. PTI demands that the Election Commission allocate the reserved seats in KP based on the party’s share.
The case highlights the ongoing political dispute over the allocation of reserved seats in provincial assemblies across Pakistan, with several political parties raising concerns about fairness and transparency in the process.
