PTI Balochistan Announces Protest Schedule for Release of Party Leaders and Workers

Quetta:President of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Balochistan, Dawood Shah Kakar, has announced a series of protest events demanding the release of the party’s founding leader and other detained members and workers. Speaking at a press conference at Quetta Press Club on Monday, alongside other party leaders, he unveiled the party’s protest schedule, which includes a convention in Quetta on June 22, a public gathering in Ziarat on June 27, and another in Duki on July 4.

Dawood Shah Kakar criticized the current government—referring to them as the “Form-47 rulers”—for denying PTI its constitutional and democratic right to peaceful protest. He stated that hundreds of party members, including women and senior leaders, remain in jail, and the party is being denied the same protest rights afforded to other political parties.

He further revealed that PTI will file a writ petition in court against the authorities’ refusal to grant protest permissions. He claimed that since the past 15 months, PTI offices have been sealed seven times, peaceful rallies have been banned, and even press conferences are met with FIRs.

The PTI provincial committee, he said, met recently and decided to pursue a constitutional path for the protection of their democratic rights. Despite anticipated crackdowns and arrests by the government, he asserted that the party will not be intimidated and will continue its peaceful struggle.
