Quetta Jolts with Two Consecutive Earthquakes, Residents Fearful

Quetta, Balochistan: The region of Zhob in Balochistan experienced two consecutive tremors, causing fear and apprehension among residents. According to the National Seismic Monitoring Center in Islamabad, the first earthquake on Monday morning measured 5 on the Richter scale, with its epicenter 35 kilometers deep underground. The quake’s epicenter was located 106 kilometers south of Zhob.

According to the United States Geological Survey (USGS), the epicenter of the earthquake was 61 kilometers north of Kohlu district, at a depth of only 10 kilometers. Less than an hour later, a second earthquake measuring 3.9 on the Richter scale was recorded, with its epicenter 79 kilometers south of Zhob at a depth of 151 kilometers.

While the tremors have caused concern among the local population, there have been no immediate reports of casualties or damage. Authorities are closely monitoring the situation and advising residents to remain vigilant in case of any aftershocks.
