TikToker Girl Shot Dead by Fellow TikToker in Islamabad – Suspect Arrested in Faisalabad

Islamabad: A tragic incident unfolded in Pakistan’s capital where teenage TikToker Sana Yousaf, hailing from Chitral, was shot dead inside her home by fellow TikToker and acquaintance, Umar Hayat alias “Kaka”. The suspect was later arrested in Faisalabad after fleeing the scene.
According to a private TV channel, the accused Umar Hayat is also a TikTok content creator. Following the murder, he reportedly changed his TikTok user ID in an attempt to avoid detection. Police are investigating his digital activity. He allegedly chose a time for the attack when Sana’s family members were not home, suggesting he was in contact with her and had prior knowledge of the household schedule.
On the day of the incident, Sana’s mother was out shopping, her father and brother were also away, while her aunt (phuppo) was present in another room. According to her aunt’s statement to the police, Sana and Umar had an argument. Sana tried to calm him down, saying, “Don’t be angry, I’ll bring you some water.” As the argument escalated, she warned him that the house was under CCTV surveillance inside and outside, and that he would be held accountable if anything happened. Ignoring the warning, Umar opened fire.
The aunt heard two gunshots from the room. Reports indicate that Umar entered the house, climbed to the second floor where the family lived, and had a conversation with Sana. She asked him to leave, which was also overheard by the aunt. Shortly after, Umar fired the fatal shots, left the house, and was seen fleeing from the street corner—captured in CCTV footage. It is suspected that he had a getaway vehicle ready nearby.
Umar reportedly used the Kashmir Highway and then the motorway to escape to Faisalabad, where he went into hiding. However, he was ultimately located and arrested. During preliminary interrogation, he confessed to the murder.
Authorities are now arranging his transfer back to Islamabad. CCTV footage of him fleeing the crime scene has surfaced and will serve as key evidence in the case.
