Storms and Heavy Rain Forecast for Parts of Pakistan; Weather Alert Issued

The Pakistan Meteorological Department has issued a weather alert predicting **dust storms, rainfall, and hailstorms** in several parts of the country, starting **this evening**. The affected regions include **Islamabad, upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Punjab, interior Sindh, Kashmir, and Gilgit-Baltistan**.

According to the forecast, **isolated heavy rain and hail** are expected in **Mansehra, Kohistan, Abbottabad, Murree, Galiyat, Attock, and Jhelum**, while **strong winds may pose risks to weak infrastructure**. The department has advised caution, especially in vulnerable areas.

Despite the expected rain in northern and hilly regions, **intense heat continues to grip the plains**, with cities like **Jacobabad, Turbat, and Sibi** recording **temperatures as high as 47°C**, well above seasonal averages. The heatwave has raised health concerns and caused significant discomfort among residents.

In **Kotri**, **two people lost their lives** and **25 others were injured** in weather-related incidents caused by strong winds and rainfall. **Hyderabad, Jamshoro, and nearby areas** also received heavy showers, providing some relief from the heat but causing localized disruptions.

Authorities have urged the public to **avoid unnecessary travel**, **stay updated with weather reports**, and **follow safety precautions** to handle any potential emergencies.
