CTD Kills 3 Terrorists in Mianwali Operation, Foils Major Attack Plan – Militants Strike Police Post in Bannu

Mianwali / Bannu:In a major counter-terrorism success, the **Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD)** killed **three dangerous terrorists** near **Rahmani Khel Mor**, Mianwali, while six others managed to flee under the cover of darkness. Meanwhile, in **Bannu**, militants launched a heavy assault on a police checkpoint, leaving one constable injured.
### Mianwali: Terror Plot Foiled
According to the **CTD spokesperson**, the operation was intelligence-based and aimed at intercepting a terror cell planning a **large-scale attack on police checkpoints**. When the CTD team reached the location, they came under **intense gunfire** from the militants.
> “Three terrorists were neutralized in the crossfire, some due to friendly fire from their own group,” said the CTD spokesperson.
Recovered from the scene were:

* **3 hand grenades**
* Ammunition
* **Explosive materials**
A **search operation is underway** to track down the **six escaped militants**, and **checkpoints have been established** in the Rahmani Khel area. The identities of the deceased terrorists are being verified.

### Bannu: Armed Militant Assault Repelled
In a separate but related incident, **militants attacked the Mandan Fatah Khel police checkpoint** in **Bannu district, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa**, using **heavy weapons**.
**Regional Police Officer (RPO) Bannu, Sajjad Khan**, confirmed the incident, stating:
> “Dozens of militants attempted to overrun the post, but the police’s swift and effective response forced them to retreat.”
* **One police constable was injured** and taken to a hospital for treatment.
* Police reinforcements, including **armored vehicles**, were quickly dispatched.
* The attackers were **repelled after a heavy exchange of fire**.
Police launched a **search operation** in the surrounding areas. The RPO added that **traces of blood and other evidence were found**, suggesting **casualties among the attackers**.
