PM Has Entrusted Me with Responsibility of Visiting Saudi Arabia Next Week: Federal Petroleum Minister

Lahore (Qudrat Daily) — Federal Minister for Petroleum Ali Pervaiz Malik has said that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has entrusted him with the responsibility of visiting Saudi Arabia next week. He said the country and the region are passing through a testing time, terrorism is once again raising its head in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and he appeals to the Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to demonstrate national responsibility, adding that politics and point-scoring can be done at any other time. He assured that the government will take whatever steps are needed, beyond its means and capacity, to protect the common man in the most difficult circumstances.

Speaking to the media in Mughalpura, he said that the nation’s leadership, regardless of which province it belongs to, must today come together to protect the people and the country’s borders, and that as a nation we must stand behind the country’s leadership.

He said, “I am so concerned today that we do not, for the sake of our petty politics, inflict such harm on the country and the state that we have to feel ashamed before the next generation.”

He said that our officers and soldiers are confronting terrorism and rendering martyrdoms; their sacrifices should be given priority and, together with the military leadership, the country should be taken forward. He said the Prime Minister and the Field Marshal have resolved that whatever steps the state needs to take to keep Pakistan safe from every kind of evil, we will not retreat even a single step for the sake of national dignity.

Federal Minister for Petroleum Ali Pervaiz Malik said that the nation today faces challenges from the regional war, and to protect it from these, we will responsibly explore whatever room we can find. He assured on behalf of the government that in the most difficult circumstances, we will take whatever steps are needed, beyond our means and capacity, to protect the common man. He further said that terrorism has also engulfed the region — the Houthis have attacked oil installations near Riyadh, and action was taken to obstruct the passage of ships at Yemen’s Bab al-Mandab. Pakistan, as a partner in the Makkah Agreement, not only condemns these actions in the strongest possible voice but will stand with Saudi Arabia alongside Turkey.

He said that the Prime Minister has entrusted him with the responsibility of visiting Saudi Arabia next week, where he will meet the Saudi Energy Minister and thank him.
