Full Boycott of Israel and Its Supporters Urged at National Palestine Conference: Mufti Taqi Usmani

Islamabad: Speaking at the National Palestine Conference, Mufti Taqi Usmani called for a complete boycott of Israel and its supporters. The conference, held under the theme “Responsibility Towards Palestine and the Muslim Ummah,” saw the participation of a large number of scholars from various sects.
During his speech, Mufti Usmani stated that Gaza and Palestine are currently undergoing unimaginable suffering, with Israel’s brutality fully exposed, particularly under the influence of the United States. He pointed out that the Muslim leadership remains lethargic in the face of these atrocities. The attendees emphasized that more than 60,000 Palestinians have been martyred, with attacks on journalists and medical personnel becoming increasingly common.
Speakers criticized the global silence, especially from Islamic organizations, and demanded that the Muslim world take a clear stance against Israel’s occupation of the Holy Land. “Israel’s occupation of the land of the Prophets is illegal,” they affirmed.
Former Senator Mushtaq Ahmad Khan expressed his outrage, saying that the genocide of Palestinians continues, with thousands of people—among them women and children—losing their lives. He praised the courage of Gaza’s residents and Hamas for standing firm against the might of the US and Israel. He also asked, “Where are the 57 Islamic countries? Are they nations, or just American military bases?” He called for direct military intervention in Gaza, asserting that jihad has now become obligatory for the Muslim world.
Former Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Haji Ghulam Ali remarked that political and religious leaders are largely silent on the ongoing atrocities in Gaza. He urged young scholars to speak out against Israeli aggression in mosques and emphasized that the Palestinian people have already written history with their blood.
Hamas leader Dr. Zahir Naji reminded the audience that Palestine is the land of the Prophets and that Gaza’s suffering is a call for help to the Muslim Ummah, particularly Pakistan. “The oppressed people of Gaza are looking towards the Pakistani government, its scholars, and its people for support,” he said. He questioned the current state of the Muslim Ummah and where the promise of the “best nation” as described in the Quran has gone.
Maulana Qari Hanif Jalandhari shared his concern that over 60,000 people have already been martyred in Gaza. He criticized human rights organizations that have remained silent in the face of these atrocities, noting that many Muslim rulers are complicit in Israel’s crimes. He also warned that the Israeli agenda extends beyond Gaza, with future threats to Lebanon, Syria, and Yemen.
Mufti Taqi Usmani, President of the Federation of Madrassas of Pakistan, concluded by stressing that the world must confront Israel’s ambitions of “Greater Israel” and the continued displacement of Palestinians from their lands. He condemned the hypocrisy of those advocating for women’s rights globally but remaining silent on the violations occurring against Palestinian women. He also criticized the United Nations and said that international bodies have become tools in the hands of Israel and the United States.
Mufti Usmani reiterated Pakistan’s firm stance against Israel, stating that the country, since its creation, has rejected any recognition of Israel. He emphasized that Pakistan’s policy remains consistent, as was the position of its founder, Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, who declared Israel to be an illegitimate state.
The conference concluded with a unanimous declaration, which condemned the ongoing genocide of Palestinians in Gaza, calling for the immediate suspension of diplomatic ties with any country establishing relations with Israel. It urged that a special session of the United Nations Security Council be convened, with Pakistan taking the lead. Furthermore, the declaration demanded that next Friday be observed as a day of solidarity with the oppressed and besieged people of Palestine.
The statement also rejected US President Trump’s proposal to relocate Palestinians and reaffirmed that the entire region, including Israel, is the legal and natural right of the Palestinian people. The declaration called on the Muslim world to take immediate action, including military intervention, to defend Gaza and the Palestinian cause.
