Judicial Magistrate Grants 5-Day Physical Remand of Journalist Farhan Malik in Second Case

Karachi: Judicial Magistrate Malir has granted a 5-day physical remand of journalist Farhan Malik in a second case.

Farhan Malik was presented in the court of Judicial Magistrate Malir by the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) today. The case presented by the FIA in court states that on March 25, a raid was conducted at a call center in Gulshan-e-Iqbal, where two suspects, Atar Hussain and Hassan Najib, were arrested.

The FIR filed by the FIA mentions that the arrested suspects were involved in fraud with foreigners, obtaining their confidential data through software. The suspects are accused of being involved in fraud and cheating. According to the FIA’s FIR, the arrested suspects revealed that the operation was being carried out under the instructions of Farhan Gohar Malik.

Subsequently, the court granted a 5-day physical remand of Farhan Malik to the FIA in connection with the second case.

It is noteworthy that earlier, journalist Farhan Malik was arrested by the FIA under the Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act (PECA) for allegedly violating its laws. Yesterday, the court had rejected the FIA’s request to extend Farhan Malik’s physical remand and ordered his transfer to jail.
