Parliamentary Committee on National Security to Hold In-Camera Meeting Today

The Parliamentary Committee on National Security will hold an in-camera meeting today, where military leadership will brief members on the current security situation.

The opposition alliance, the Movement for the Protection of the Constitution of Pakistan, has decided not to participate in the National Security Committee meeting.

In a statement, spokesperson of the Movement for the Protection of the Constitution of Pakistan, Akhundzada Hussain Yousafzai, confirmed their decision to not attend the meeting. He stated that the opposition alliance has decided to refrain from participating in the National Security Committee meeting.

On the other hand, following discussions between the Speaker of the National Assembly and the government, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has decided to attend the in-camera meeting. PTI has submitted the names of 14 representatives to the Speaker for participation in the meeting.

It is noteworthy that the Prime Minister, on the advice of the government, has called the meeting of the Parliamentary Committee on National Security, which will take place today at 11 AM.

The spokesperson for the National Assembly has stated that the meeting will be held in the National Assembly hall, where parliamentary leaders of all political parties in Parliament, along with their nominated representatives, will attend. Relevant cabinet members will also participate in this important meeting.
