Balochistan and Federal Government Sign Historic Agreement on Farmer Package
Quetta: The governments of Balochistan and the federal authorities have signed an unprecedented agreement on a farmer package. According to the terms of the agreement, tube wells will be shifted to solar energy.
Prime Minister Shabhaz Sharif remarked that farmers will benefit from cheaper electricity after the agreement. The burden of annual subsidies amounting to 90 billion rupees will be lifted post-agreement.
All tube wells will be transitioned to solar energy within three months. The next phase aims to convert ten lakh tube wells to solar energy. Governor, Chief Minister, and Cabinet of Balochistan extend congratulations to the people on this historic agreement today.
