PTI Lawmakers Storm Nowshera Grid Station, Assault Staff and Disrupt Power Supply

Peshawar:In a shocking incident on Tuesday, **Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI)** lawmakers **MNA Zulfikar Ali** and **MPA Zar Alam Khan** along with nearly 200 protesters stormed the **Nowshera Grid Station**, assaulted the staff, and forcibly activated several feeders. According to sources from **PESCO (Peshawar Electric Supply Company)**, the lawmakers used the mob’s support to take control of the grid and disrupt power supply in various areas.

The PTI members allegedly physically assaulted the grid station staff and threatened to seize control of the station. They managed to force the activation of multiple feeders including the **Kheshigi Town Feeder**, **Kheshigi Express Feeder**, **Kheshigi Tubewell Feeder**, **Bahram Khel Feeder**, and the **Old Bara Banda Feeder**.

As a result, the disruption in the power distribution system caused a significant imbalance, leading to electricity outages in several areas for hours, plunging local residents into darkness.

PESCO authorities condemned the actions, stating that these incidents severely impacted the regular supply of electricity. They also pointed out that just days earlier, **MNA Zulfikar Ali** had been involved in a similar attack at the **Pabbi Grid Station**. A formal complaint had already been filed against him at the local police station for the previous assault.

Following this latest incident, PESCO officials confirmed that they had submitted a letter to the relevant police authorities, urging legal action against the PTI lawmakers involved in the disruption.

The incident has raised alarms over the safety and security of grid stations and the abuse of political influence in obstructing essential public services.
