Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif Optimistic About Positive Progress in Talks, Adds Ejaz-ul-Haq and Khalid Magsi to Negotiation Team
Islamabad: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has expressed hope for positive developments in the ongoing negotiations with Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) for the larger national interest. As part of these efforts, he has included National Assembly members Ejaz-ul-Haq and Sardar Khalid Magsi from the ruling coalition in the government’s negotiation committee.
According to Express News, the first round of talks between the government’s allied committee and PTI took place today. During this round, the government alliance demanded a charter of demands from PTI.
The next round of negotiations will take place on January 2, during which PTI is expected to present its full set of demands. However, in today’s discussions, PTI outlined some preliminary demands.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif emphasized that the nation’s broader interests must be prioritized and hoped that the talks would progress positively. He further underscored the importance of national security in the decision-making process, stating that the country’s well-being is paramount.
