Student Jumps from School’s Second Floor in Panic After False Earthquake Alert; Critical Condition
Khanewal: A student of Government Girls High School in the city of Jehanian, Punjab, jumped from the second floor of the school building after a false earthquake alert caused panic among the students. According to the school’s teacher, construction work was underway on a nearby road, and the sound of heavy machinery and vibrations led to the students becoming frightened.
In the ensuing chaos, more than ten students were injured as they jumped from the second floor. Rescue teams quickly responded and transported the injured to a nearby hospital.
Among the injured were 14-year-old Meraj Fatima, who fractured her leg, 10-year-old Nashwa Naveed, who sustained a head injury, and 13-year-old Zulekha, who suffered a clavicle bone fracture. Additionally, 14-year-old Laiba Kulsoom was brought to the hospital in a semi-conscious state, while 13-year-old Mahnoor Nazakat, 12-year-old Minsa Shaukat, 13-year-old Fiza Ramzan, and 13-year-old Anfal Tariq also sustained various injuries.
Authorities are investigating the incident, and medical staff have assured that the injured students are receiving treatment for their injuries.
