Over Rs70 Million Worth of Drugs Seized in Nationwide Anti-Smuggling Operations

Rawalpindi: In a major crackdown against drug smuggling, the Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) recovered narcotics worth more than Rs70 million in a series of operations conducted across various cities in Pakistan. According to an ANF spokesperson, seven operations led to the arrest of six suspects and the seizure of over 186 kilograms of narcotics.
In one operation at Jinnah International Airport, authorities recovered 4.3 kg of crystal meth (Ice) from a parcel intended to be shipped from Lahore to Australia. Similarly, at a courier office in Lahore, 380 grams of Ice hidden inside shoes in a parcel bound for abroad was seized.
In Islamabad, near the Faizabad Bus Terminal, ANF officials arrested a suspect in possession of 23 kg of Ice and 1 kg of suspicious material. On Ring Road in Peshawar, two separate operations led to the seizure of 19.2 kg of hashish and 5 kg of heroin from four individuals, including two on motorcycles. Another 8.4 kg of hashish was recovered from a suspect’s bag in the same area.
A major seizure was made at a company warehouse on Hawksbay Road, Karachi, where 105 kg of Ice and 20 kg of heroin were found concealed inside machinery stored in two containers.
All suspects have been booked under the Anti-Narcotics Act, and further investigations are underway.
