Government Announces Revised Fuel Prices for the Next 15 Days
Islamabad:The government has unveiled new prices for petroleum products, keeping petrol rates unchanged while reducing the price of high-speed diesel by 3.05 PKR per liter for the next 15 days.
According to a notification issued by the Ministry of Finance on Sunday, the price of petrol will remain at 252.10 PKR per liter, while the cost of high-speed diesel will be reduced to 255.38 PKR per liter, following a cut of 3.05 PKR per liter.
Additionally, the price of light diesel has been reduced by 2.78 PKR per liter, bringing the new price to 148.95 PKR per liter. The price of kerosene oil has also dropped by 3.32 PKR per liter, with the new rate now standing at 161.66 PKR per liter.
The new fuel prices will take effect from midnight on Sunday, December 16, 2024.
Previously, government officials had suggested that fuel prices could be adjusted due to uncertainties in the global market, particularly regarding the situation in Syria. If the situation stabilizes, further price reductions could be anticipated.
It is important to note that just last month, on November 30, 2024, the government had raised the prices of petroleum products, increasing petrol by 3.72 PKR and high-speed diesel by 3.29 PKR per liter.
