Rain and Snowfall Forecast for Parts of the Country

Islamabad: The **Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD)** has forecast **rain in several regions** and **snowfall at a few high-altitude locations** across the country.
According to the PMD, **most parts of Pakistan will remain dry**, while **mountainous areas** are likely to experience **cold weather during night and early morning hours**.
In **Islamabad and surrounding areas**, the weather is expected to stay **dry**, while **Murree, Galyat, and nearby hill stations** will remain **cold**. The PMD has warned that **smog is likely to persist** in **Lahore, Gujranwala, Kasur, Sheikhupura, Okara, and Faisalabad**, as well as in **Sialkot, Khanewal, Rahim Yar Khan, Bahawalpur, and Multan**.
Light **rain is expected in Chitral, Dir, Swat, Kohistan, and Kurram**, while **Gilgit-Baltistan** may receive **rain and light snowfall** at a few places. In **Azad Kashmir**, the weather is likely to remain **cold and dry**.
In **Balochistan**, most districts will experience **cold and dry conditions**, whereas **southeastern coastal areas of Sindh** are expected to have **partly cloudy skies**.
The PMD added that due to **prolonged dry weather and rising air pollution**, **eastern districts of Punjab** will remain **under the influence of smog**. Citizens have been advised to **take precautionary measures**, especially during morning and evening hours.
During the past 24 hours, **most parts of the country remained dry**, while **cold conditions prevailed in northern regions** and **dense smog** was observed in parts of **eastern Punjab**.
