PTI Leader Shoaib Shaheen Calls for Full Court to Hear 26th Constitutional Amendment Case
ISLAMABAD (Daily Pakistan Online) – Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Shoaib Shaheen has demanded that the case regarding the 26th Constitutional Amendment be heard by a full court, stating that the amendment has attacked the judicial system in Pakistan.
Speaking to the media, Shoaib Shaheen emphasized that the constitutional bench was formed specifically because of the 26th Amendment. He raised concerns about the potential consequences if the amendment is declared unconstitutional, questioning what would happen to the decisions made by constitutional benches under this amendment.
Shoaib Shaheen further stated that PTI’s petition regarding electoral fraud should be presented before senior judges. He accused the government of undermining the judicial system through the amendment and harming national institutions. He also warned that due to the prevailing injustice, people were pulling their investments out of the country, and the nation’s progress could only be ensured when the rule of law is upheld.
The PTI leader reiterated that the government’s actions were damaging the country’s institutions, and that true development could only occur when the law is supreme.
