Punjab CM Maryam Nawaz Announces Proposal for New Provincial Airline, Lauds Aviation’s Role in Global Connectivity
Islamabad:Punjab Chief Minister **Maryam Nawaz Sharif** has announced that the provincial government is committed to providing modern air travel facilities, with a proposal under consideration for the establishment of a new **Punjab Airline**.
In her message on **International Civil Aviation Day**, Maryam Nawaz emphasized that aviation has transformed the world into a “global village,” shrinking distances and fostering international connectivity. She praised the contributions of **Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif** for his efforts in restoring the lost prominence of **Pakistan International Airlines (PIA)**, particularly through securing permission for the airline to resume flight operations in Europe.
Maryam Nawaz expressed her gratitude towards Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif for his astute leadership, which facilitated PIA’s return to European skies, marking a significant step towards revitalizing the national carrier.
She highlighted that aviation plays an indispensable role in the growth of the economy, tourism, and public relations, underscoring that its impact cannot be underestimated. The proposal for a Punjab-based airline, she stated, is part of the provincial government’s broader vision to enhance air travel facilities, stimulate economic activity, and strengthen international ties.
