Sindh Government Decides to Raise Gas Load Shedding Issue with Federal Government
Energy Minister Nasir Hussain Shah Instructs Energy Secretary to Write Letter to Federal Authorities
Karachi: Sindh’s Minister for Energy, Nasir Hussain Shah, has taken notice of the ongoing gas load shedding and low pressure issues, directing the Energy Secretary to send a letter to the federal government.
In his statement, Minister Shah emphasized that despite Sindh being the largest producer of natural gas in the country, the province’s residents are facing severe shortages. He pointed out that with the onset of winter, gas load shedding has begun, leaving children unable to have breakfast before going to school.
Shah called for the implementation of Article 158 of the Constitution, which ensures the province producing the most gas has the first right to its supply. He also urged the federal government to appoint a representative for Sindh in the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) and appealed to the President and Prime Minister to take immediate notice of the gas supply disruptions.
