How Android Users Can Easily Block Annoying Ads: Simple Solutions
Karachi: Mobile phone users are often frustrated with the constant pop-up ads that appear on their screens, but these ads are a significant source of revenue for website owners and app developers. Many of these ads can be persistent, clinging to your screen and consuming your phone’s resources. They can even slow down your phone and drain its battery.
However, the good news for Android users is that there are ways to block or limit ads on their devices. Here are some easy methods to help you get rid of unwanted ads:
Block Ads on Google Chrome:
Open Google Chrome on your Android device.
Tap the three-dot menu in the top-right corner and select Settings.
Scroll down to Site Settings and select Pop-ups and redirects.
Toggle off the option for Pop-ups and turn off Redirects.
Back on the Site Settings page, select Ads (which blocks disruptive ads) and toggle it off.
Block Ads from Your Home Screen:
Home screen ads can be more intrusive than browser ads. Some apps misuse the “Display over other apps” permission to show banner ads. To stop these:
Long press any app icon on your home screen and tap App Info.
Select Display over other apps and disable this option.
If the app is unnecessary, uninstall it directly from the App Info page.
Disable Lock Screen Ads:
Lock screen ads, often pushed by wallpaper services like Glance, can also disrupt your device usage. To disable them:
Go to Settings on your phone.
Navigate to Lock Screen and select Wallpaper Services.
Choose None to disable dynamic wallpaper ads.
With these simple steps, Android users can regain control over their devices and enjoy a smoother, ad-free experience.
