China, Russia, Qatar, and Iran Offer Mediation Amid Pakistan-Afghanistan Tensions

Beijing: China, along with Russia, Qatar, and Iran, has offered to mediate in the ongoing tensions between Pakistan and Afghanistan.
A spokesperson for the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed concern over the situation and stated that China is using diplomatic channels to play a constructive role in de-escalating the conflict.
Both Qatar and Iran have also extended offers to facilitate mediation. Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi emphasized that differences between Pakistan and Afghanistan should be resolved through dialogue, adding that Iran is ready to provide all possible support to facilitate discussions.
Meanwhile, the Russian Foreign Minister indicated that mediation could be considered if requested by either country.
In addition, the United Nations Secretary-General expressed concern over the recent Pakistan-Afghanistan tensions, urging both nations to fulfill their responsibilities under international law.
