PTI Protest: Female Police Officer Forced to Carry Toddler While on Duty in Islamabad

Islamabad: The ongoing Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) protest has turned the federal capital into a fortress, with containers blocking roads and security forces, including a significant number of police officers, stationed at various locations. Among these officers, a notable presence of women has been observed, some of whom have been deployed in plain clothes.
One such female officer, who has been assigned duty during the protest, was seen carrying her two-year-old child while on the job. According to reports from BBC, the officer was spotted with the child on one shoulder, while carrying a bag containing the child’s clothes and feeding bottle on the other.
When asked why she had brought her child to work, the officer explained that she had no one to look after her child and had been instructed to remain on duty for four days. Given this, she had no choice but to bring her toddler along.
When questioned about how she would protect her child in the event of violent clashes or tear gas use, she responded, “If tear gas is used, I will run with my child.”
Other female officers also shared that they had been told to remain on duty at the same locations for the next four days, despite the potential risks involved in the ongoing protests.
