Government Fully Committed to Dr. Aafia Siddiqui’s Case, Assures Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif

Islamabad: Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif reaffirmed the government’s unwavering commitment to the case of Dr. Aafia Siddiqui during a meeting with her sister, Dr. Fouzia Siddiqui. The Prime Minister assured her that all possible legal and diplomatic efforts are still being made for Dr. Aafia’s release and well-being.
Highlighting the seriousness of the matter, PM Shehbaz noted that he had previously written to former U.S. President Joe Biden, urging action on Dr. Aafia’s case. He also informed Dr. Fouzia that a special committee, headed by Federal Minister for Law and Justice Azam Nazeer Tarar, has been formed to ensure further progress.
This committee will remain in contact with Dr. Fouzia Siddiqui and will actively work to provide any necessary assistance in this regard.
The Prime Minister emphasized that under his directives, the government has consistently provided legal and diplomatic support for Dr. Aafia Siddiqui in the past and will continue to do so with full dedication.
