Balochistan Government Strictly Adheres to Merit and Transparency in All Departments: Zahoor Buledi

Quetta (Daily Qudrat Quetta): During the Balochistan Assembly session, members expressed serious reservations over the matter of recruitments in the Sports Department, leveling allegations of alleged irregularities, nepotism and recruitment of candidates from other districts, while Provincial Minister Zahoor Buledi rejected the allegations and clarified that all recruitments in government departments are being made on merit and the sale of jobs will not be tolerated under any circumstances. The session, chaired by Speaker Balochistan Assembly Abdul Khaliq Achakzai, began 25 minutes behind the scheduled time.
During the session, MPA Asfandyar Kakar expressed reservations over Sports Department recruitments in Broshur, saying that people from outside have been recruited in the department, which raises serious concerns. He said that any kind of corruption in recruitments cannot be tolerated under any circumstances and the matter should be reviewed transparently.
Opposition MPA Asghar Tareen, raising questions regarding Sports Department recruitments in Pishin, said that transparency in the recruitment process has been ignored and the department is allegedly acting arbitrarily. He said that allegations have surfaced of separate quotas being allocated for the Deputy Commissioner, Secretary and committee members, while jobs are given according to the will of committee members and the blame is then placed on Assembly members.
Asghar Tareen further said that allegations of selling jobs have also been leveled by a cabinet minister on the Assembly floor regarding recruitments. He said that Class IV employees are exhausted after making rounds of offices for their recruitments, while reservations also exist regarding the recruitment of people from other districts against Class IV posts in Pishin.
Provincial Minister Zahoor Buledi, responding to the allegations leveled by Assembly members, said that the serious allegations regarding recruitments are not correct and all recruitments are being made on the basis of merit. He said that the Chief Minister of Balochistan had already made clear on the very first day that no one would be allowed to sell jobs.
Zahoor Buledi said that any kind of shortcoming or negligence in the matter of government jobs will not be tolerated. If anyone has solid evidence regarding the sale of jobs, they should bring it forward, and the government will certainly take action on the matter. He claimed that the recruitment process in government departments is being carried out through artificial intelligence (AI).
On this occasion, MPA Zarak Mandokhail proposed taking notice of the objections raised over Sports Department recruitments and forming a committee to investigate the matter. He said that Assembly members are not being taken into confidence regarding recruitments against Class IV posts, which is adding to their reservations.
During the session, differences emerged between government and opposition members over the matter of Sports Department recruitments. Assembly members demanded ensuring transparency in the recruitment process, adherence to merit and investigation into alleged irregularities, while the provincial minister clarified that action will be taken if the sale of jobs or any kind of corruption in recruitments is proven.
