Youth Protests Intensify Across Europe, Nearly 400 Arrested in France

PARIS:Youth protests have intensified in several European countries, with demonstrations over rising living costs, declining education standards, corruption and unemployment leading to clashes with police.

In France, protests against inflation and the deterioration of educational standards continued in several cities, including Paris, Marseille and Toulouse, where demonstrators confronted police.

In the French city of Lyon, a tourist office was reportedly set on fire. Buildings and other properties were also set ablaze in several cities, while shops were looted amid the unrest.

Police arrested approximately 400 people in connection with the demonstrations, according to reports.

Meanwhile, student-led anti-government protests continued for a fifth consecutive day in Tirana, the capital of Albania.

Demonstrators are demanding the resignation of Prime Minister Edi Rama, citing alleged corruption and a lack of employment opportunities.

Police used tear gas and water cannons to disperse protesters as tensions continued to rise.

The demonstrations reflect growing public anger over economic pressures and governance issues, although the scale and circumstances of the unrest vary between the countries.
