J.D. Vance Jokes About Two Most Important People in His Life, Mentions Wife and Asim Munir

BERGENSTOCK: A light-hearted remark by US Vice President J.D. Vance during ongoing diplomatic engagements in Switzerland has attracted widespread attention and quickly gone viral on social media.

According to reports, Vance made the comment on the sidelines of discussions related to the implementation of the “Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding” and the broader diplomatic efforts surrounding US-Iran peace talks in Bergenstock.

Speaking in the presence of diplomats and media representatives, the US Vice President humorously remarked that there are “two very important people” in his life—one Indian and one Pakistani.

Explaining his statement, Vance said that the Indian person was his wife, Usha Vance, while the Pakistani individual was Field Marshal Asim Munir.

The comment drew laughter from those present and was widely interpreted as a reflection of the cordial atmosphere surrounding recent diplomatic engagements involving Pakistani and American officials.

Usha Vance, the wife of the US Vice President, is of Indian origin and is a lawyer by profession. Vance’s reference to her alongside Field Marshal Asim Munir was viewed by some observers as highlighting the significance he attaches to his professional relationship with Pakistan’s military leadership.

The remark comes amid reports of warm interactions between senior US and Pakistani officials during meetings in Switzerland. Earlier, Vance was reported to have thanked Field Marshal Asim Munir for his efforts toward regional peace during a meeting held on the sidelines of diplomatic discussions.

The informal exchange added a personal touch to otherwise high-level diplomatic engagements and attracted considerable attention across media platforms.
