Important Announcement for Pakistani Passengers as Riyadh Airport Closure Extended by 24 Hours

ISLAMABAD: The closure of King Khalid International Airport in Saudi Arabia’s capital, Riyadh, has been extended by another 24 hours, with the airport scheduled to remain closed until midnight tonight, according to airport sources.
Sources said the extension was intended to allow authorities to review the airport’s radar and communication systems. Flight operations to Saudi Arabia remain uncertain amid the ongoing situation.
The extended closure has disrupted flight schedules from various Pakistani airports, with a total of 34 flights to Riyadh reportedly cancelled.
The situation has also significantly affected flight operations at airports in Madinah, Jeddah and Dammam.
Amid tensions in Saudi Arabia and other Gulf countries, several flights from Lahore’s Allama Iqbal International Airport to different Saudi cities have also been cancelled.
The cancelled flights include private airline services XY318, F3656 and P9580 from Lahore to Riyadh, as well as flight XY884 from Lahore to Dammam.
According to sources, the cancellations include six flights from Karachi, four from Islamabad, 12 from Lahore and two from Peshawar.
Meanwhile, flight operations at Dammam Airport have resumed after a six-hour suspension. However, uncertainty continues to surround the overall schedule of flights to Saudi Arabia.
Passengers travelling from Pakistan to Saudi Arabia have been advised to check their flight status with their respective airlines before leaving for the airport to avoid inconvenience.
Airlines may revise their schedules depending on the operational situation and further instructions from Saudi aviation authorities.
