LAHORE:Legendary West Indian cricketer **Brian Lara** has joined the growing number of cricket figures expressing support for Pakistan’s 1992 World Cup-winning captain and former prime minister **Imran Khan**.
In an Instagram Story, the 57-year-old cricket legend appealed for dignity and independent medical care for Imran Khan amid growing concerns over his health and treatment while in custody.
“I don’t understand why Imran Khan is not being provided medical treatment with the compassion and dignity he deserves,” Lara said.
He stressed that his appeal was **not political**, but rather a call for basic humane treatment of a cricket legend and appropriate medical attention.
Lara’s remarks represent a prominent voice from the international cricket community calling for proper healthcare and humane treatment for one of Pakistan’s most celebrated cricketers.
It is worth mentioning that legendary Pakistani batsman **Javed Miandad** and Australian captain **Pat Cummins** also spoke in support of Imran Khan last week.
